SP: Jon Lester

Angels Starting Lineup

Things to Watch

The Cubs basically imposed their will on Garrett Richards yesterday. They were not afraid to be aggressive early, and when they had 2 strikes, they were very cautious at the plate. Several times, the Cubs would get to a full count passing through 3-2. If the Cubs have the same plate discipline as they did yesterday, they should definitely put some runs up against Heaney.

Heaney is an interesting pitcher, because his best pitch is a changeup that might not be all the way there yet. If it is, he's going to be a tough assignment. If it's just a bad fastball, expect some dingers.

Schwarber rides the pine today, which is almost certainly due to the handedness of Heaney (he's a lefty). I'd imagine he's the first bat off the bench.

Will the Cubs Win?

Yes (19)

Randy's Record: 1-0

In these parts, randy means to be aroused, usually inappropriately. And if there were only two words to describe this blog, inappropriately arousing could be those words. Or just randy.

Cubs are going to score 14 runs and go through the lineup 6 times, and people are going to complain about 13 strikeouts in 60 plate appearances.

there goes the season shutout. All downhill from here.

It was fun while it lasted. There’s always next year.

Oh hey—there are still some exciting players left in the minors,

Good to see the Pirates walk off against the Best Team in Baseball™. A bunch of preseason predictions had the Pirates staying home and the Red????????s playing meaningful games in October. I really hope the roles are reversed.

Also, I don’t think they should have resigned Fowler—I mean, what’s he done lately? (dying laughing)

They’re not too far away. If they can just add a piece or two this offseason, they’ll be pretty good in 2017.
