JOT: Cubs Minor League Recap 6-6-13

Round Rock Express 6 @ Iowa Cubs 0

Junior Lake returned. He was 1-4 at 3B and hit 6th. He was the only player to get a hit and not double; Logan WatkinsSteve Clevenger, and Donnie Murphy each had a single double. No one else had a hit.

Guillermo Moscoso had another dicey performance, allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. He also walked 5; the entirety of his damage was a 3-run HR he allowed to Solarte. Michael Bowden allowed 3 runs in 1.2 innings, and Eduardo Sanchez closed it out with 1.1 scoreless.

Jackson Generals 5 @ Tennessee Smokies 0 (7 innings)

The Smokies had 4 hits, much like the I-Cubs did. The only player that didn't have a bad game was Arismendy Alcantara. He went 1-2 with a walk. Basically, everyone else sucked.

Alberto Cabrera lasted only 5 innings and gave up all 5 runs. Trey McNutt and Zach Rosscup each pitched a scoreless inning.

Jackson Generals 2 @ Tennessee Smokies 1

Ronald Torreyes had a double, a single, and a walk. That's pretty good. Rafael Lopez had a 2-3 game with an RBI. Like the previous game, everyone else was terrible.

Eric Jokisch had a complete game loss. He only allowed 4 hits and 2 walks, but two of his own errors contributed to his 2 runs and ultimate loss.

Kane County Cougars 0 @ Burlington Bees 9

That's right. The full-season affiliates combined for 1 fucking run yesterday. These draft picks can't come soon enough. Albert Almora, Neftali Rosario, Bijan Rademacherand Marco Hernandez each had a hit. Jeimer Candelario had 2. Everyone else just sucked.

A fielding error by Reggie Golden and Marco Hernandez contributed to Jose Rosario's awful game. He went 5 and allowed as many runs, but only 1 was earned. Brian Smith coughed up the other 4 in his 3 innings of work.

DSL Rojos 6 @ DSL Osos 7

Nothing cool.

VSL Mariners 11 @ VSL Cubs 3

Ramon Valera: 0.1 innings, 2 hits, 2 walks, 5 runs allowed, 0 HR.
