I. Don't. Care. And neither do you. Mike Olt went 1-4, but every time he didn't single, he struck out. Logan Watkins also singled, as did a bunch of other people. What do you want from me? At least Jae-Hoon Ha doubled and homered; Edwin Mayonnaise and Luis Flores doubled too. The I-Cubs struck out 14 times and walked twice.
Yoanner Negrin looked really, really good, earlier this year. I haven't watched him for a few months, and in those months he's apparently turned into a dumpster fire. 5 ER in 4.1 IP. Alberto Cabrera, Chang-Yong Lim, and Brian Schlitter each went scoreless to finish the game.
Birmingham Barons 9 @ Tennessee Smokies 6 (14 innings)
Javier Baez went 1-6 with a walk, a SB, and no strikeouts. He scored 2 runs. Good! He had his 5th error. Bad! Arismendy Alcantara walked twice, doubled once, and singled once. Even better! Matt Szczur went 2-7. Rubi Silva went 0-7 with 3 SO. Brett Jackson was 2-6 with a walk, but he also struck out 3 times. Rafael Lopez walked once and singled thrice.
The only notable pitching performance is Kevin Rhoderick's 7 walks in 1.2 innings. That was good for 4 runs, 3 earned, and the loss.

Nate Samson is not a pitcher, remember that.
It's time to promote Albert Almora and Dan Vogelbach. Almora went 1-3 with a walk, and Vogelbach went 0-1 with 2 walks and a sacrifice fly. Almora was a 6.2% walk rate in Kane County against a 10.7% K rate. Jeimer Candelario doubled and walked, and Reggie Golden apparently hit a 700-ft HR. Oliver Zapata tripled and singled. As a team, the Cougars turned 3 double plays.
Kris Bryant went 2-4 with a single and a double. After a really, really bad start to his season, he's been quietly pretty solid. He could sniff KC at the end of the year; disappointing when I though he could end the season at Tennessee, but not the end of the world. Jacob Robers had 2 singles and a walk, and Cael Brockmeyer had double singles. Rony Rodriguez doubled.
Rob Zastryzny was nails again. He struck out two and allowed a hit in two innings. Sam Wilson took the bump next and allowed 2 unearned runs, but it was gross with a 3 WHIP. Zack Godley picked up the win with one earned run in 2 innings, and Scott Frazier allowed 2 hit and no runs/walks in 3 innings.
Nothing exciting, except Trevor Clifton pitched a scoreless inning with one hit and 2 strikeouts.
