Kralborge Solmorant: Still worse tools than Byron Buxton.

Seriously, look at Almora’s line from yesterday. No fly balls, 3 line drives, and he also had a diving catch that isn’t recorded in stats.

The AFL is about a half notch below AA as far as league difficulty, right?

Between A+ and AA generally.

Seems like there are more prospects this year, though.

It’s a pretty hitter-friendly environment, though, isn’t it? Not that a 2000 OPS wouldn’t play in any league, I guess.

Not only is it hitter-friendly, but pitchers really challenge hitters in this league, so there is contact to be made (at least, that’s what I’ve heard anecdotally).

@ Myles:
Teams also usually don’t send their best pitching prospects to the AFL so the talent is fairly lopsided in favor of the hitters. If may be close to AA talent overall, but I’m betting if you did the necessary adjustments it’s probably pretty close to A+. Not to mention, batting takes precedent over fielding so the fielding is probably pretty bad overall. It’s really a hitter’s showcase. It’s like batting practice, but in the middle of a game.
