Will the Cubs win? What is winning? Who among us can truly be said to be winners? Well, aside from the Yankees I guess.

538 Forecast: 65% chance of winning

berselius: Flare the line, some dumbass in the Indians pen was just standing in the middle of it, Heyward had to slide to avoid hitting him.

May it the moment that gets the Cubs get so weirdly mad that they destroy Cleveland the next three games.

    Smokestack Lightning,

Foul ball in Indians’ bullpen, all three Cubs running toward it, two guys in bullpen just stood there and didn’t get out the way as Heyward slid in to attempt a catch.

And that should have been obstruction, yes?

As a guy, I’d feel bad if the foul ball was a few inches higher getting thru Joe West’s legs, but since it’s Joe West, I have to think about it.

(dying laughing) I’m listening to the espn radio feed and Dan Shulman was describing Andrew Miller doing towel drills. Hopefully thats a Cubs omen

Just have someone give Maddon a painful electrical shock every time he lets a pitcher bat with the team behind.

Would love to have been in the Fox production meeting where someone suggested that they needed more crotch closeups.

That was partly on Lester for letting the runner get a huge lead. Also Maddon for leaving Lester in to let the runner get a huge lead.

If heyward starts next year like this he is going to get “Jacque Jones’d” by the wonderful people who sit the bleachers.

Batting Heyward is giving away outs at this point

I’ll be alot more comfortable when the Cubs score some more runs

    berselius:
Heyward and Baez are black holes in the field and at the plate

So that’s why that foul ball came back into play earlier despite the wind direction.

Also explains the time dilation around Javy.

I’ve really gotten to dislike Joe’s in-game management. Gimme Dusty any day over a guy who doesn’t even know when to use his best players.

Can we talk about what a terrible job Joe is doing with game management right now? Burns Montero to hit for ross… to just replace him with Contreras. Now the pitcher’s spot is up next and he’s going to want to keep Chapman for more than two outs. So chapman either hits or we burn another pinch hitter.

Chapman is actually in for Ross. Contreras was put in for Lester.

Given how this offense is hitting, Chap probably won’t bat.

Chapman replaces Montero/Ross and Contreras replaces Lester. That’s the reason for burning Montero.

    What he said.

I was just bitching to myself about not liking Conteras handling Chapman’s stuff, the he makes that incredible pick (dying laughing). Shut me right up.

    berselius,

The inconsistency makes me think that much of the problem is with the top and bottom of the strike zone being poorly defined. Who knows if that was a strike?

They need to get some epistemologists behind the plate.

Davis is completely in Chapmans head. Chapman needs to just strike these dudes out

Cover first base. How hard is it?

Davis is fast and Chapman got turned around. He should practice running to first just in case if it’s hit over there, but even so, I don’t know that he could have beat Davis to the bag.

I keep thinking all these foul balls down the RF line are home runs (dying laughing). Is Fox using a different camera?

    BVS,

I was thinking the same, or even here for Chapman.

I didn’t know it was possible for someone to go from NLCS MVP to DFA in little more than a week.

I also thought it was odd batting Chapman; whatever leverage you gain by pitching him in the 9th you lose by giving away an at-bat in a late and close situation. Plus if you bat Schwarber and he gets Heyward home, you’d think Strop can get 3 outs before giving up 2 runs.

Gleyber Torres for Aroldis Chapman was a trade I recently enjoyed.

    Onward, patient motherfuckers.
