A Send Off For Cubs Legend Kyle Hendricks

In Better Know a Cub by Rice Cube76 Comments

There are plenty of articles to link to regarding Kyle Hendricks’ desire to pitch past this season and how it won’t likely be with the Cubs. As well as no longer being an “only one team” Immaculate Grid selection, this is going to be the last piece of the 2016 World Series championship group saying goodbye. Kyle will come back to us in future Cubs Conventions and whenever they need a guest conductor, and perhaps he may one day serve as a pitching coach or some other capacity in the organization, but the days of him pitching effectively for the North Siders is over. Let’s instead remember him as he was, while we await what is to be his final start wearing the home team’s uniform.

Shame he can’t get the W, but it was awesome to see vintage Cyle and for him to get the mid-inning hook to get a proper ovation and curtain call.

Identical as last year, think losing the tiebreaker means they finished in third place, but I guess we will see what 2025 brings.

Meanwhile if the Mets and Barves split, AZ is out. If there’s a sweep, AZ and the sweeper are in. Fun times.

I was considering a postmortem but feel like I’ve said mostly what needs to be said and the would-be fixes are kind of obvious, so while I figure out where to find some free-ish conferencing software to revive the pod again someone else can have a cracked at it…

I think at minimum, Edwin Diaz can’t pitch in game 2, and the Mets may be at least a tad tipsy before first pitch anyway, so this will be a likely split or else the funniest sweep of all time

    Rice Cube,

Makes sense. I’m sure Counsell wants more input on his staff and I’m not sure one could call the Cubs’ coaches and trainers especially effective this year.
