The Children Are The Future-Cubs Shit Sponsored by ALCO

Iowa

Josh Vitters took a walk. Move along sir.

Smokies

Kevin Rhoderick and Alberto Cabrera both had good outings in relief. These are two guys you could see up in the majors at some point this year as the Cubs continue to develop relief pitchers and 2nd basemen. Its all part of the plan people.

Daytona

Ronald Torreyes had a 3 hit game and Austin Kirk had another great outing. Kirk has dazzling standard numbers with a 1.54 ERA in 4 starts but he has only struck out 9 batters during that stretch. Anything I have seen on the guy describes his stuff as fringy at best and the FSL is very pitcher friendly so I wouldn't get too excited until he can start missing more bats.

Peoria

A conversation between DylanJ and God. DylanJ- God is it too much to ask that a single player do something worth noting to help me write these fucking things? God- Yes it is. Go fuck yourself.

So there you have it. Nobody did anything worth wasting my time on. Go to bed.

  1. Since I missed the Castro thread last night, holy newsdump Batman. Even though it’s good news for the Cubs I wonder how much the decision to release the news at ~9pm on a Friday was influenced,

  4. B might have a good point. It could be happenstance, but even though the news is good, PR-wise it still involves their one marketable player involved in a sexual assault case. You can’t scream from the rooftops, “See? He didn’t rape anybody!” So you put it out where it will get easily buried and quietly move on.

  5. It really is a shame that mlb.tv is showing the Nats game for free at the same time the Cubs are playing. Now I am forced to make the extremely difficult decision whether I want to watch Paul Maholm or Steven Strasburg pitch.

Baseball is better when your star shortstop evades a rape charge, and you hope he learns the lesson not to treat women like his playthings from here on out and this is the end of it.

See this is what i am talking about. Who says he treated women like a play thing?

I mean there is zero wrong with a 22 year old trying to go to a bar and get laid. There is 100% nothing wrong. The girl could have been doing the same thing. Just as it is wrong to pass judgment on her for being a cleat chaser it is wrong to pass judgment that Starlin did anything wrong

  10. Why did Esmaillin Caridad pitch 4 innings for Iowa last night? Is he trying to build up to be a starter? Remember when he was supposed to be kinda ok as a reliever? I always really liked his name.

He said that and i think he now knows he needs to vet the type of girl he brings home a little better…

Any girl we hook up with in our lives is a lesson learned that doesnt mean we did something wrong.

It’s good news for the Cubs and it’s certainly good news for Castro, but there was still the allegation of rape. The girl may have been raped. This is a sensitive topic. It’s good that Castro wasn’t charged, but if a crime took place it’s unfortunate that justice wasn’t served. If a rape took place it may have been committed by someone other than Castro. I have no idea, but you don’t scream this from the rooftops.

  14. I never thought I’d say this, but I agree with bubbles. I have no interest in speculating on Castro’s possible guilt once the DA says there isn’t enough evidence to do anything. Therefore, he’s innocent.

  16. Also, I don’t think “insufficient evidence” ever = “99% sufficient evidence”.

IMHO, insufficient evidence means no evidence.

(I do understand the difference between innocent and not guilty, and I do understand the logic MB and GBTS22 are applying to the situation, but again, once the DA says there’s no point trying to argue this case because it sucks, then ASAIAC the guy didn’t do anything and speculating that maybe he did isn’t fair.)

Thats fine. But I would want our fans also to know our SS isnt a rapist.

    @ mb21:
