You finally gave Miguel Montero his hyperlink back. Not that anyone was using it for anything positive.

Anyone have Garza’s quote about how he liked playing for a winning team?
dmick89Quote Reply
BVS,
I did this one on my phone so I didn’t have the script available to run it for bref links.
Good to see you back around here.
dmick89Quote Reply
dmick89,
Was it this?

SKQuote Reply
Yes indeed. BVS, how is the bug and/or plant professoring going down in the Cayman Islands?
SKQuote Reply
The Brewers don’t strike me as a team that can afford to give away outs on the basepaths and still win.
uncle daveQuote Reply
They strike me as a woman who has never been satisfied.

umbra,
uncle daveQuote Reply
Oh good, another outfield collision.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
SK,
Might be. I can’t remember exactly what it was.
dmick89Quote Reply
umbra,
Is that a Hamilton reference? My 5yo is obsessed with Hamilton.
joshQuote Reply
Yep. Your 5yo must assume that they’re the smartest in the room.
umbraQuote Reply
Wild pitch!!!
dmick89Quote Reply
umbra,
He does always say what he believes.
joshQuote Reply
So Chaill is doing better against the Brewers than the PCL.
SKQuote Reply
SK,
PCL are better hitters.
joshQuote Reply
I love bunting against Garza
SKQuote Reply
SK,
And Joe loves nothing more than the safety squeeze. Perfect match.
dmick89Quote Reply
86 pitches for Garza through 3.1 innings.
dmick89Quote Reply
The Cubs are really good at wasting scoring opportunities.
dmick89Quote Reply
dmick89,
That’s partly because they score a lot of runs, but it’s still annoying.
dmick89Quote Reply
dmick89,
I almost feel like always bunting to Garza could be a legit strategy for every AB against Garza.
joshQuote Reply
(dying laughing) @ Chaill doing the splits and getting the out.
SKQuote Reply
dmick89,
And get on base a ton.
joshQuote Reply
Chaill wants to do a perfect M motion but he can’t quite reach.

Pat Hughes isn’t even calling this? Boooooooooo.
umbraQuote Reply
umbra,
I’ve noticed Pat is doing whatever the fuck he wants these days.
SKQuote Reply
Come on, Rondon. This team needs you.
dmick89Quote Reply
Is Pat not calling games one the radio or something?
dmick89Quote Reply
Here comes the game tying home run.
dmick89Quote Reply
Rondon’s command still isn’t great.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
All the of Rondon’s outs were fly balls. Not ideal, but I’ll take it.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Screw the closer, please.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
dmick89,
He takes days off and even series off if they are awkward travel-wise. And he does color commentary for an inning every game. I think he used to take a half inning break, now he stays in the booth but makes Coomer do PBP for a full inning.
I do not blame him one bit.
SKQuote Reply
I’m surprised they sent Zobrist with none out.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Wait, Russell is still on second? That makes no sense.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
I don’t trust Joe Smith with a 10 run lead.
dmick89Quote Reply
That should have been an RBI sac fly by Heyward.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Rizzo the Rat,
That’s at least the second or third time Russell has done that when the lead runner has tagged.
dmick89Quote Reply
That seems to happen a lot.
SKQuote Reply
Heyward is never going to get another hit. He is going to go 0-for-career from now on out.
SKQuote Reply
This is great. Now when I make my custom player for MLB The Show, I’ll know to copy Joe Smith’s delivery.
umbraQuote Reply
Damn. Montero just missed one.
dmick89Quote Reply
SK,
Sure seems like it.
dmick89Quote Reply
If Contreras is in as a defensive replacement, WTF is Montero still on the team for?
SKQuote Reply
That was pathetic.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Just throw strikes.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Willson!
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Yay. Inverted-M.
umbraQuote Reply
No postgame thread? Also, when’s the game thread going up tonight?
EdwinQuote Reply
I’m guessing Cahill stays and Smith gets DFA?
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Rizzo the Rat,
I think Cahill was the 26th man for the DH so he will have to back to the minors after tonight’s game. I imagine he will need a few days rest anyway.
SKQuote Reply
SK,
He was in the minors rehabbing for his DL stint. He was activated of the DL for the 26-man DH roster. That’s why they need to make a roster move when they go back to a 25-man roster.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Looks as if Anderson has an observed reverse platoon split, which explains Maddon’s odd lineup tonight.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Rizzo the Rat,
I heard tell that the rule about the 26th man is that the same guy has to go back down. I know he was on a rehab stint, but I think might have options.
SKQuote Reply
SK,
Reading the rules just now made my brain hurt so I don’t know, maybe he can stay.

SKQuote Reply
Len said they’d have to make a roster move tomorrow. Pretty sure it can be anyone.
dmick89Quote Reply
Smith and Cahill have a similar skill set (righty sinker-ballers), so I imagine one of them has to go, probably Smith.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Yeah, Smith is terrible.
dmick89Quote Reply
I’ll try to get another game thread together, but it may be awhile.
