Cubs 10, Rangers 3

OSS: Steele deals, Dansby steals, something else that rhymes with meal.

Three up:

  1. Justin Steele struggled with his control a bit early on, but worked around it and ended up allowing just one run in six innings. He now has an ERA of 0.75 and a FIP of 2.64 in the extremely large sample size of two starts.
  2. Dansby Swanson’s hot start continues. His go-ahead RBI single in the third inning was the Cubs second biggest play of the day by WPA, and he hustled to score from first on a single to center to help pile it on late in the game. The contract looks good seven games in, haha.
  3. Speaking of hot starts, Patrick Wisdom blasted his third home run of the season.

Three down:

  1. Not much to complain about today. Nico had a rough day WPA wise, but that umpire’s had it in for him ever since he kinda ran over his dog… Well, replace the word ‘kinda’ with the word ‘repeatedly’ and the word ‘dog’ with ‘son’.

Next up: The Cubs go for the sweep at 1:20 PM CT. Jameson Taillon faces Jon Gray.

After that loss to the Reds I said the Cubs wouldn’t be over .500 again but I can’t argue with them today. Shut me right up.
