OSS: A shutout by Arrieta and a grand slam by Fowler blow the doors off the Twins.
Three up
1. Arrieta shook off whatever rust he had in his last outing, a laboring, career-worst six walk game. He went the distance, allowing only four hits and no walks and striking out seven.
2. The most memorable play of the game was obviously the Fowler grand slam, which put what was a close-ish game well out of reach in the eighth inning. Great work by the rest of the lineup in front of him too – Fowler was the sixth batter of the inning and there were still no outs when he came to the plate.
3. This Anthony Rizzo guy might be pretty good. He had either 3 or 388 home runs in this series, and Target Field is not a bandbox.
Three down
1-2. The Cubs don’t get to play the Twins again.
3. The Cubs get Kershaw and Grienke in their next two games
