The Cubs have acquired Dan Haren from the Florida Marlins. No word yet on who was sent to Miami.

Haren has given up a ton of fly balls this season and his fastball is not very good. He hasn’t walked many batters and has been a little lucky. He’s basically a solid 4 or 5 starter at this point so it’s a bit surprising the Cubs end up only getting someone as good as him. If they make the playoffs, you’d have a hard time arguing he should be in the 4-man rotation assuming the others stay healthy.
UPDATE: According to Joe Frisaro, the Cubs will be sending two minor leaguers.
