SK,
Yeah, it’s like Little League.

Crossing my fingers that the Cubs avoid another losing season this year.
berseliusQuote Reply
berselius,
Their schedule is backloaded so today is huge.
dmick89Quote Reply
berselius,
haha holy shit i just realized that could happen TODAY. today, as in “august 24th”.

i haven’t been paying much attention to the 538 individual game odds. do they get much higher than 65%? i have to think that today’s game would be about as lopsided as it gets so i would have expected a higher number.
EnricoPallazzoQuote Reply
EnricoPallazzo,
i suppose i could just check instead of waiting for an answer.
*checks*
they are at 69% (awesome) for all 4 brewers games but otherwise 65% is pretty high. still kind of surprised it’s not higher for this game.
EnricoPallazzoQuote Reply
EnricoPallazzo,
65% for a road game is really high.

SK,
The one to Russell was terrible.
dmick89Quote Reply
Two popouts with a man on third and less than two outs. Impressive.
ceruleanQuote Reply
Kyle Houdini. I dig it.
ceruleanQuote Reply
EnricoPallazzo,
I think 73% or so was their best, but that was at home early in the year with Arrieta still on his amazing run.
ceruleanQuote Reply
cerulean,
For some reason I was thinking 77%.

Runs, please.

The Padres’ defense isn’t as good as the Cubs’.

Russell has 7 more RBI than Goldschmidt
SKQuote Reply
SK,
Impressive, but he probably has more RBI opportunities. At least I’d assume so anyway.
dmick89Quote Reply
dmick89,
Yeah, he’s in a better lineup.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Things that drive me crazy: RISP, less than two outs, first base open, batter watches strike three sail right down the middle.

dmick89,
Rizzo the Rat,
suckers of fun

Need a bigger lead with this bullpen.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Was worried the team HR streak might end today. Silly me.
SKQuote Reply
SK,
I know there’s also a team “multi-HR per game” streak at stake, but don’t care about that one.

Rizzo the Rat,
Aloha, Mr. Hand.

Rizzo the Rat,
Yeah, I figure we end up winning 9-8.

If it resembles a child’s Christmas countdown, it’s not too soon.

My handwriting is a little suspect, yes. No chocolate behind each box like an Advent calendar, though.

uncle dave,
Nope, definitely not. Glad to see you got the low odor marker.
dmick89Quote Reply
Hey, I don’t want to jinx anything, but I think the Cubs are going to make the playoffs this year.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
uncle dave,
The dozenal numbering system makes up for the backwards 6 of a 0.
ceruleanQuote Reply
Assuming even odds, the Cubs just as likely to break the all-time wins record as have a .500 season.
ceruleanQuote Reply
Wow. The Texas Rangers still have a negative run differential.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
The Cubs would have 101 wins—and I am being conservative—if they had the Rangers’ luck. 101–25. 36 games over is ok, 76 games over is a little better.
