Eloy Jimenez should be Cubs RF in 2014

In Commentary And Analysis by dmick8918 Comments

Why? Because it seems like it's the thing to do with some people. Just throw out a name of some prospect who is doing well and say, for god knows why, that he should be with the Cubs in 2014. At least two idiots have suggested Kris Bryant open the 2014 season with the Cubs.

This idiotic idea was brought to you by them.

    LMAO

Yellon is arguing in the comments that keeping Rizzo down last year to get an extra arb year and avoid Super 2 wasn’t worth it. Holy shit.

One little RT of this post from Keith Law has the traffic jumping on this post, and judging from the replies here and on Twitter, at least half of the people who clicked over think this is a serious opinion, which is, of course, ridiculous.

Everybody knows that Eloy Jimenez will be blocked in RF next year by Brett Jackson.

Rant Sports’ Cubs Starting Lineup 2014:

    C – Geovany Soto
    1B – Rizzo
    2B – Robinson Cano
    3B – Kris Bryant
    SS – Josh Vitters
    RF – Brett Jackson
    CF – Jacoby Ellsbury
    LF – Brett Jackson, again

Flip Castro for Felix Hernandez and we’re set. See y’all on Opening Day.

    Committed.

Calling people idiotic for suggesting that Bryant would open season shows a lot of knowledge on the writer’s part. While he likely will not open, it would not be strange to see him with the Cubs sometime in 2014.

He was the college Golden Spikes winner and named Player of the Year by Baseball America.
Of the last ten guys who won those honors… almost all were in MLB the following year.
