I think it started, I won’t know for sure because my Twitter is now broken beyond repair and I can’t get to a broadcast until my wife is done with work today 😜
The annoying part about living in a valley is not having good broadcast signal so we have to hunt down a restaurant with a cable package now (dying laughing)
I enjoyed it until the last two minutes, which virtually expired rather unceremoniously in the red zone. Just an obscenely high consequence to cause ratio on that penalty.
The change would see the limits stretched so that a team that’s winning a game would have to be ahead by 10 runs, whereas the trailing team would have to be down by at least eight.
You have 13 pitchers on the roster, 8 of whom (at least) are probably not in the rotation and therefore usable, so might as well use them.
Was thinking about this some and thinking it makes sense to have like an innings cutoff, because at some point you just run out of outs to work with and a comeback isn’t likely so it doesn’t make sense to just leave the mopup guy out there to get shelled some more before you let a position player try to end the game already…I mean, someone still has to throw the pitches, and you do want them to be as competitive as possible for as long as possible, and I get that you want to avoid overuse and injury, but I get also that you don’t want them to wave the white flag too early.
Something like…
Before the 7th inning – no position player pitcher ever unless the bullpen just got hit by an asteroid
7th inning – score difference 15+ whether team is winning or trailing
8th inning and later – score difference is 10+ if leading, 8+ if trailing

The ESPN score page suggests the Eagles are currently driving so I’ll check in again when I find an actual broadcast

WBC participating pitchers were to report by today, but I’m guessing many of them are already in camp anyway
