Seems to be working fine. The HTML editing buttons seem to be shortened or altered a bit, but other than that I don’t notice anything.

Let’s hope so. This ended up being a mess

So is there a refresh comments control? And every time I post it scrolls me to the top of the comments.

I know there’s a WordPress plugin that allows you to add a comments “like” feature, but I don’t know if there’s one that also does dislikes.

I like the new multi-quote feature. The nested blockquotes always got ridiculous back on the old EE site.

    That’s a happy accident.

While I would have liked to be First! here, I am honored to have posted the last comment on the old commenting platform before it got blown up.

You can’t abuse it nearly as much as I wanted to abuse it. It’s a good thing WordPress wasn’t something I could throw across the room because I would have. Many times.

I think it is supposed to auto-refresh but that doesn’t seem to be working for me.

This made it sound like auto-refresh to me.

The biggest change is the cache plugin we’re using. For all non-registered users a static page will be served. If you follow the comments as a non-registered user the comments won’t refresh for about 60 minutes. If you want to follow the comments, go ahead and register and that won’t be an issue. Most of the visitors on the site aren’t registered and most don’t follow the comments so this makes a huge difference on the requests made to the server.

I thought it read if you register = auto-refresh (at some frequency), if you don’t register you auto-refresh ever 60 minutes.

It doesn’t mean that if you sit on the page new comments will appear, it just means that when you reload the page you’ll see new comments right away only if you’re registered. If you are unregistered the comments feed that you get when you load the page only updates every 60 minutes. At least that’s how I read it.

That makes sense. Will we have the ability to edit in the future or will our words be written in stone?

I don’t mean to be a jerkface, but what about posting images and videos? Also, is a “LIKE” button in the offing?

It doesn’t auto-refresh. It’s like 99.9% of blog’s comments. Enter a comment, it refreshes the page. Want to see new comments? Refresh the page.

Yeah, currently the cache plugin is disabled, but it will be enabled later today.

A like button will be installed at some point soon. There will be a button added to embed images. I’ll look into youtube. It’s going to be a few days. I’ve been fucking around with this shit for too long to worry about that stuff right now.

Josh, replace the [ and ] with . And add quotations around the link.

    Something like this

Remove all the spaces except for the space between img and src.
