Taylor is playing center, not short.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
I’m in Aisle 433. Let’s win this fucking game.
North Side PatQuote Reply
I think the dodgers have fouled a thousand pitches off this series. Just crazy how long these at bats go.
dmick89Quote Reply
Can we keep the walks down this time? Like, under six?
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
This is probably the best team I’ve seen since the 1998 Yankees.
dmick89Quote Reply
Hey Cubs. Not sure how you guys scout, but please stop throwing Bellinger inside fastballs. Thanks.
JKVQuote Reply
Crap. Kershaw brought his curveball with him this time. Cubs lose.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
I forgot. This team has never seen a curve ball.
dmick89Quote Reply
Grandal could have framed that.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Rizzo just looked silly again.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Would have been nice if Rizzo and Bryant had shown up this series.
dmick89Quote Reply
dmick89,
Hey, Bryant advanced the runner to second. That’s something.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Kike Hernandez? Seriously?
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Rizzo the Rat,
On a pitch low out of the zone. Looked like he gave credit to one of the coaches back in the dug out so I’m guessing he was looking for it.
JKVQuote Reply
Jesus, Javy.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Where’s Dodgers_in_5 when you need him?
ceruleanQuote Reply
Ugh.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
I don’t see the point in warming someone in the pen now, tbh.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Hopefully Castro can get a championship now.
dmick89Quote Reply
Not good, Bob.
North Side PatQuote Reply
Q is struggling, but I don’t get what pulling him accomplishes. Oh well, the season will be over soon, in any case.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Early 2016 Rondon please
ceruleanQuote Reply
Nasty.
ceruleanQuote Reply
DP pleaseNevermind
ceruleanQuote Reply
Welp
berseliusQuote Reply
Luckily Rondon is only giving up a HR on 2 of every 3 batters he faces this postseason. He should keep this within reach.

Cleared bases?
ceruleanQuote Reply
Even the sub-replacement shortstop gets a hit.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
How about 8 stright hits to make this game interesting?
ceruleanQuote Reply
wait til next year
MylesQuote Reply
Not that it really matters, but pulling Quintana early is just typical of how Joe manages pitchers in the post-season. He panics over recent results.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Sort of like the way Lackey earned his way onto the roster with a “good” second half.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Could have used that strikeout in game 2, John.
ceruleanQuote Reply
Heyward would have caught that.
ceruleanQuote Reply
I’m starting to think the Cubs might not win this one.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Rizzo the Rat,
Why so pessimistic?
dmick89Quote Reply
Frustrating season, jabronis.
PerkinsQuote Reply
Our “Kershaw” chant worked out well.
North Side PatQuote Reply
Hey, Bryant showed up!
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
About time Bryant hit a HR.
PerkinsQuote Reply
Bryant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dmick89Quote Reply
9 more just like that please.

(dying laughing). KB shows up late to the party after all the alcohol is gone and everyone left

Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
At NLCS 6 last year, my dad lost his voice for almost a week from all the “Kershaw” chants. All those 58 foot curveballs were beautiful.
That was a Kershaw postseason start I recently enjoyed more than this one.
PerkinsQuote Reply
JKV,
He brought his own so he’s good.
dmick89Quote Reply
What a shitty carom 🙁
ceruleanQuote Reply
That makes sense, since he’s a teetotaler.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
He demolishes the ball off the tee, but what’s that got to do with alcohol?
ceruleanQuote Reply
Lackey does not give up a run!!!!!!!
ceruleanQuote Reply
Rizzo the Rat,
Really? I’d never heard that.

Perkins,

Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Rizzo the Rat,
I kind of assumed that would go out the window after winning the World Series, though.
PerkinsQuote Reply
Bryant Duensing.
Yeah, that’s not his name.
ceruleanQuote Reply
Perkins,
It didn’t. https://www.si.com/mlb/2017/03/21/kris-bryant-chicago-cubs-born-win

Fuck this shift.
ceruleanQuote Reply
The Dodgers got nine points? I thought they scored nine runs. The Cubs might have a chance.
ceruleanQuote Reply
I wouldn’t mind seeing the Cubs re-sign Duensing.
ceruleanQuote Reply
I really hope Montgomery doesn’t make it into the rotation next year.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
If he’s cheap, I wouldn’t mind, but he may be overpriced after an uncharacteristically good season.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Rizzo has saved at least two throwing errors today.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
Should have put Monty in in the third inning. The Cubs might’ve had a chance.
ceruleanQuote Reply
Rizzo the Rat,
Of course if he’s cheapish. Like Uehara money. He might get a shot at a starting job though, so I don’t think he’ll be back.
ceruleanQuote Reply
Someone forgot to tell the Cubs pitchers that Kike Hernandez isn’t good (and Culberson is terrible).
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
The prophecy of dodgers_in_five has come to pass.
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
He was just a year late.
Rice CubeQuote Reply
Rice Cube,
Or early. I don’t math good anymore.
Rice CubeQuote Reply
Thou has conquered, O dodgers_in_5; this blog has grown grey with thy posts.

Rizzo the Rat,
I was waiting for this to rear it’s ugly head. Unlikely the troll even remembers where he all posted.
TheVanQuote Reply
Maybe this would be a good time for Kris Bryant to start drinking…
Rizzo the RatQuote Reply
I would have to think something actually bad would have to happen to him for that descent into vice. Not coming up short in the NLCS after winning another division title while being among the best players in baseball again, also while knowing his financial future is secure for the rest of his life.
Smokestack LightningQuote Reply
Frustrating year in many ways, but really not an unsuccessful one on balance. A consistently inconsistent Cubs team that had trouble with the Brewers all year and got swept by the Padres ends up one of two teams standing in the National League. I’m very curious to see what next year brings, as this year’s “just reset a couple of things and see what happens” approach won’t be possible. Thanks to all you guys for a great place to lurk. I miss y’all a lot in the offseason, so I hope that there are some things to write about here and there.
