While Myles and many other NL fans are opposed to the DH coming to the National League, I'm fairly certain its arrival is inevitable. I'm also fairly sure it will happen soon (within the next 5 years). The polls below assume that this is true so even if you oppose the DH, please vote.

So far 2 have voted for 8-man lineup (3 for DH) while 3 have voted in the next poll.

I didn’t vote as the post did not give me the option, but I would have voted for the DH. I don’t really have a reason other than I think they should keep the nine-man lineup, because pitchers are used to working that lineup and if you have too much lineup turnover due to a shorter lineup, you’re going to need many more pitchers per game to finish it out…

I like the 6-man lineup. It would get the best hitters the most plate appearances and it would create a situation in which these awesome defensive players who can’t hit for shit would get to play. We’d see better defense and better offense. There would be more runs scored, but it wouldn’t be because there is worse pitching. Win win in my opinion.

If we allow ghost runners in MLB (dying laughing) I’d be in favor of a 5-man lineup.

Nah, might be a cookies or cache issue but I’m too lazy to clear everything (dying laughing)
I get the other points you have but I still enjoy seeing the best pitchers stay in the game longer and that’s likely not to happen if he no longer has two or three sucky guys at the bottom of the order to suck on. Call it a difference in aesthetics or philosophy, I suppose.

wtf!
I guess I am a dying breed loving the pitchers hitting that results in a series of interesting decisions to be made as a game gets into the late innings
One of the joys of baseball is that every player plays both offense and defense – and managers are important as they have to make the pitching/hitting decisions
oh well
I’ll learn to live with the DH but I am sorry to see the game move in this direction

I voted for the 8-man line-up, because it was my idea in the first place.

As I’ve said elsewhere, I’ve warmed to the DH, even if I still don’t love it. That said, I think people who believe it’s coming to the NL soon are underestimating the resistance it will face from fans. The 8-man lineup is kind of interesting, but it will never happen, and I hate the idea a 6- or 7-man lineup (far too radical for me).
(btw: the word “hate” has an “em” tag around it and should be in italics, even though it shows up as normal. I mentioned this problem in “complaints.”)
