1. Anthony Rizzo hit his 16th home run, and also singled. He’s the man.
2. Jeff Samardzija tried out for the Blue Jays and it went well – except for Devin Mesoraco, who has plunked twice. Add those to his walks, and he had 4 to go with 7 Ks over 6 innings. It’s been real, Jeff.
3. Um… Brian Schlitter had a nice inning!
Three Down
1. Hector Rondon was BABIP’ed out, but he also gave up a HR to Devin Mesoraco (a granny, at that).
2. Pedro Strop had 2 walks in his one inning of work (though he struck 2 out). Not great, but not awful.
3. Ryan Sweeney left 2 on base with 2 outs. 🙁 That 4th inning really sucked, plating 0 with men on 2nd and 3rd.
