The Cubs have one last short series before the ASB, and will see some old farmhands in Eloy Jiminez and the newly promoted Dylan Cease. Cease is not expected to start, but with the break imminent who knows, he may get to face his old tema.

Brach leads in k/9. I would not have guessed that, and I cannot hide the degree to which it disturbs me.

andcounting,
Technically it’s Maples but I disqualified him due to lack of innings / lack of interest in his continued existence in the Cubs org.

berselius,
That said I fully expect that he becomes an all star closer with the Padres or something after the Cubs DFA him.

berselius,
How is this season not lost already?

berselius,
Wait, you are more interested in Brach than Maples? A 2-way tie for nevermore place in my book.

That seems more like the Crane Kriggle the Cubs signed up for.

berselius,
The hats for the 4th have been mostly hideous every year after the original navy ones in 2008.
Not quite as hideous as the camo ones they’ve been trotting out for Memorial Day for the last few years or so, but still gross.
