Per David Kaplan on CSN, Jorge Soler is being called up and will join the team for this week’s series in Cincinnati. I’m guessing Justin Ruggiano will be put on the DL in the corresponding roster move.
It’s been a given for some time that Soler was going to be called up in September anyway, since he’s already both on the 40-man and signed to a big league deal, but this way he’ll get an extra week in the bigs. Should be a fun series for a bunch of power hitters during hot week in Cincinnati’s HR-happy hitters park.
I don’t know what Epstink is thinking – if he keeps calling all these guys up the Cubs won’t have the best minors in the league anymore, my frents.
