I wrote this on Friday morning so it’s updated through Thursday’s games. I’m too lazy to update it to include Friday’s blowout loss. This is something I’ll try to update once a month just so we can see where players are at compared to their projections. It’s something SG has done on RLYW a few times over the last couple …
Series Preview: Los Angeles Dodgers of Los Angeles (10-10) at Chicago Cubs of Chicago (9-9)
Team Overview This is where I would normally talk about what the team’s done, but anything that the Dodgers have acoomplished this year is overshadowed by the legal battle that is shaking up between the McCourts and MLB. It’s going to be a big mess. If MLB does take over, I hope that they appoint current MLB VP of operations …

Series Preview: Chicago Cubs (3-3) at Milwaukee Brewers (3-4)
The Cubs won the Arizona series but came away less two members of the rotation. They head to Milwaukee, who are coming off three straight wins against the Atlanta Braves. Ryan Braun and Rickie Weeks have gotten off to hot starts but the rest of the lineup hasn’t started hitting yet. Here’s a look at their (small sample size) team …
Mapping out the Rotation
Shawn pointed out in the comments that given the number of off-days, the Cubs can limit the 5th starter somewhat. But given that they’re spaced 7 days apart there will still be a few starts. Here’s how it maps out 4/6 Ryan Dempster OFF DAY 4/8 Carlos Zambrano 4/9 Matt Garza 4/10 Casey Coleman 4/11 Demp 4/12 5TH STARTER 4/13 …
Entire team lands on DL
Andrew Cashner left yesterday’s game with tightness in his shoulder and had an MRI after the game. The results revealed a tear in his rotatar cuff. It’s what they are calling a mild strain, which is the same thing as a mild tear. Randy Wells also landed on the DL becasue of pain in his forearm. Hendry has said it …
Cashner exits game with tightness in his right shoulder
Andrew Cashner was taken out of today’s Cubs/Diamondbacks game in the 6th inning with tightness in his pitching shoulder. He had thrown the ball as well or better than any starter so far. He’d averaged about 94.5 mph on the fastball, but on one pitch in that 6th inning you could see him lower the shoulder after the follow through. …
Andrew Cashner joins the rotation
The Cubs announced on Saturday that Andrew Cashner would be the team's 5th starter and that Marcos Mateo had claimed the final bullpen spot. This leaves Carlos Silva off the roster and the Cubs will try to trade him. That's not going to happen so the Cubs will eat about $5.6 million assuming some team picks him up and pays …
