Josh, that sucks, that really, really sucks. I’m sure with your talents you will land on your feet eventually, but in the meantime, you could start charging for the comics. I’ll pay for the next one if it as good as this one.
I’m amazed that this hasn’t been a big talking point among the ZOMG STEROIDS crowd. It’s hard to think of a player with more circumstantial evidence in the majors right now – linked to BALCO, was fucking awful last year, hitting a billion HRs this year.
Added a bunch of Hope Monster T-shirts to the store. Let me know if like the design or would like other, related designs: other text, specific comics, etc. http://www.cafepress.com/obstructed_view/10392101
@ Berselius:
Didn’t he hit 20 with the Cubs one year? I think what he’s doing is far less suspicious than Jacoby Ellsbury hitting 10 home runs over his first four years (1500+ plate appearances) and then hitting 32 in 2011. Not to mention, he’s hit only 12 in 941 plate appearances since.
I’m still not suspicious of Ellsbury FWIW. Shit happens.
All kinds of things can affect your performance, positively or negatively. These include PEDs, injuries, being out of shape, personal problems, temporary loss of TWTW, subconscious fear of being hit by a fastball in the face again, being on a good team, bad team, nice team, or team of jerks. And variance and regression yada yada.
He hit 20 with the Rangers in 2009, hit 10 and 12 in 2008 and 2010 respectively, had a significant decline in 2011, and as we know was fucking awful in 2012 (-1 WAR in 153 PAs). I don’t care if he is using or not, just surprised that other people aren’t banging that drum.
@ Rice Cube:
Yeah he took the bad steroids that make you shitty, like Matt Lawton, and lots of other guys from the Mitchell report that no one remembers.

Sorry man, that’s awful.

Maybe he took the wrong steroids and that hurt his WAR. Now he’s clean and can bash homers again.

It looks like he says, “It’s wind.” Which is about the most Yellon comment ever.
