Daytona Cubs 3 @ Charlotte Stone Crabs 4 (11 innings)
Chadd Krist had the best day, probably, with two singles and two walks. Ben Carhart and Dustin Geiger each added a double; Geiger also had two singles. Pin-Chieh Chen was 2-4 with a triple. That was every hit.
Yao-Lin Wang took the bump and was an out away from a QS. He went 5.2 innings but allowed only 2 runs. Austin Reed was very good in 3.1 relief innigs, allowing a single run. Dayan Diaz coughed up a run in the 11th to end the game. He pitched a scoreless 10th, then Curt Casali lit him up for a home run.
Great Lakes Loons 8 @ Kane County Cougars 2
Ugly game. Albert Almora only had 2 singles, twice as many as Gioskar Amaya and Dan Vogelbach. Willson Contreras and Kevin Encarnacion each had a HR. That was all of the hits (though everyone else had exactly one walk, as did Amaya and Contreras. Encarnacion also walked. In fact, there were 8 walks. That's pretty cool!
Juan Carlos Paniagua had 2.1 innings of rough work. He allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, and walked 4. Justin Amlung was similarly poor, though he lasted 4 more outs and didn't walk any (5 hits). Armando Rivero worked 2 scoreless, and Andrew McKirahan gave up 2 runs in 1 inning in his debut (he was promoted from Boise).
Boise Hawks 5 @ Hillsboro Hops 1
Boise made the most of their situations today. They only had 5 hits, none for extras, but worked 7 walks in and plated 5. Carlos Penalver scored twice and knocked in two; he went 2-4. Shawon Dunston continues to have a solid season, going 1-4 with a walk and RBI. He also strole a base (as did Penalver). Rony Rodriguez DH'ed and walked twice, as well as 1B Jordan Hankins. Both scored a run.
4th round pick Tyler Skulina took the start and went 2 scoreless. Michael Wagner allowed a run in 2 innings, and Loiger Padron, Eddie Orozco, and Tyler Bremer each pitched scoreless frames (Padron pitched 3) to end the game.
DSL Osos 2 @ DSL PiratasDos 3 (14 innings)
VSL Osos 17! @ VSL Rayos 4
Ricardo Marcano went 3-5 with a double, a home run, and 7 RBI. Miguel Rico had a pair of home runs and 6 RBI.
Josh Vitters was 0-2 with 2 walks. Garrett Schlecht had a triple. Starling Peralta went 3 and allowed no runs. His ERA in thet AZL is 0.90.

So are Washington fans #NationalsNation? Redundant, if you ask me.
Can I join the #HooverDamNation?

I was inducted to #EternalDamNation back in college. Or when I got married. Can’t remember for sure.

Just for fun, what would all your top three schools be if you were a top HS football recruit? Forget about schemes and positions. If you were 18 and had legitimate NFL aspirations, which three schools would top your list?
RynoQuote Reply
Alabama
Florida
Ohio State
Then Texas and Southern Cal

Oregon, USC (if Lane Kiffin isn’t there), and Texas. I like good weather, cool college towns, and a good chance to get drafted.

1. Stanford – No brainer, for me. Best school in the country that would give me a scholarship to play football. Recent trend of on-field performance only makes this an easier choice. When your contingency plan for a failed NFL career is a degree from Stanford, you win.
2. USC – Continuing the theme of combining quality academics and NFL pipeline, USC gets the nod over Cal because of geography (suck it Alameda County) and UCLA because of coaching quality.
3. Florida – Love the state, and I think Florida is the best combination of academics and coaching (BOOM, motherfucker!) in my opinion.

I love Texas, but the only way you’re getting into the NFL from Austin is if you’re already talented enough or a DB.

USC, Florida and South Carolina. I’m going to the schools with the best chance of being drafted and the hottest girls.

depends positionally. If I’m a QB or a DE, I might stick with Purdue. Probably
1. Stanford
2. Virginia
3. Alabama

Are there metrics for that?
